Markree Castle is located just outside the village of Collooney, Co. Sligo in the beautiful northwest of Ireland. South of Donegal and north of Galway, the area boasts magnificent shorelines, breathtaking lakes and rivers, impressive mountains, and beautiful woodlands.
For 350 years the Cooper family have been living in this mighty castle in county Sligo in Ireland, which is quite unique.
All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, television, individually controlled heating and beverage making facilities. Markree Castle is an ideal base.
In easy reach of the castle are attractions such as the marble Arch Caves, Parke’s Castle, Lisadell, King House, Lough Key Forest Park, Ceide Fields, Foxford Woollen Mills, Castle Coole, Florencourt, Carrowmore megalithic remains and Strokestown House and Famine Museum.
There are six golf courses within one hours drive, and we have horseback riding.

How to get here:
From Dublin: Take the N4 toward Sligo. At Collooney (which is approximately 8 miles south of Sligo town), take the 3rd exit at the roundabout. You will see a cemetery on the left hand side after exiting. We are just 1/4 of a mile further up on the right hand side.
